BMI Baby Cardiff Winter flights
I'm not sure what this means in terms of good, bad or indifferent impact on the airport..... http://info.cwlfly.com/en/news/4/356/more-winter-routes-for-baby.html |

Good to see Warsaw and Barcelona being continued (but BCN has a break of about 4 months before returning in February 09), and the increased frequencies on Glasgow and Belfast can only be good for competition (though Bmibaby has had a checkered past with these routes so don't think it represents any long term comittment to domestic routes). I think the bigggest cuts are in frequencies to the sunny Med destinations, which is hardly surprising as it's the leisure travellers and particularly families feeling the pinch at the moment. All in all though it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. |

I think it's okay. We've got away lighter than I thought. I'm really surprised they are upping the Glasgow and Belfast routes, when these routes are already pretty well served by flybe. It's good that Barcelona and Warsaw are still there for the winter. A reduction in scheduled flights in the med, shouldn't necessarily affect the airport too much. I know several people with second houses/friends second houses etc in southern spain, and with a little less choice, it's not necessarily likely to affect numbers, as people visiting these resorts will tend to have some flexibility |
