Brymbo Hammered
Marchwiel 1st and 2nd teams celebrated emphatic victories over their counterparts from Brymbo this weekend. On Saturday, Mario's season finally started, as he claimed 6 wickets and scored an unbeaten half-century, as Brymbo were given a 9 wicket hiding at Marchwiel Hall. Having been bowled out for some 130, Mario(54*), James(47*) and Mike Forgrave(28) ensured that the paltry target was overhauled within 30 overs. Sunday's victory at Brymbo was even more emphatic, as the 2s celebrated a 10 wicket victory. On a good-batting track Brymbo raised 182/5. However Marchwiels response was sensational, as Dave Ward(94*) and Salman(69*) knocked the runs off in rapid time. These victories take both sides up to 3rd spot- with thoughts slowly starting to turn towards the possibility of promotion. |

Are first teams players allowed to play on saturday for 1st team? Then again on sunday for a 2nd eleven fixture bat up the order make 69 runs? Maybe the league should look into this and split the points 5/5 because no 1st team player should play in the 2nds and make a big contribution. Thats the league rules or is it? |

as the player in question played second team last week i see no problem with this brymbo. Mayb you shud just take this weekend on the chin and realize u were beaten by two better teams. Maybe a bit more player poaching is needed to improve your squad!!! |

im not being funny but how can you brymbo lot complain about us drafting players into sunday games, last year you brought sam hayes into your team who won you the game. We could have got into a winning position but he took the game away from us when he was playing in the premier division on a regular basis. You also had about 3 players who played on the saturday so i dont know how you lot can complain |

Get in there Marchweil!!! 2 Great Wins! Great knocks from Mario, Jimmy, Dave and Sal. Brymbo were no match. They have no complaints about fielding players who played on a saturday on the sunday. They fielded 3 of these players themselves. All 3 of them collectively scoring over 110 of their 180 runs. How bout accept defeat and we'll meet again later on this season. Well played boys! |

Christ, you lot up there are sore losers. I counted 4 players from the saturday fixture on the Brymbo teamsheet (Dan and Phill Wilkinson, Rob Ward and Ben Patterson) All of these players then batted in the top-six- one of them adding 50 runs. Dave and Rhys(2 games all season) played in both fixtures- however both are junior players-, which is an argument I have often heard Brymbo use, for their superior Sunday performances. Dave was only going to play as a bat initially(as he hadn't had much of a knock in the 1s), however was thrown the ball first change, when Brymbo's number 4 from Saturday walked out to open the batting. Salman, if you could be bothered checking, opened the batting for the 2s in the previous weekends fixture also- so I fail to see where your beef is!!! Grow up!!! |
