Thanks Tracey (and Jan also) for your good wishes for my cancer surgery.
Regarding what changes to look out for, well I'm no expert of course but I know my own body! In my case the left inner labia (the part most affected by my LS) became bigger and bigger and more 'deformed' over a period of about 1-2 years: it wasn't actually this that caused me to go to see my doctor as I thought it was just the way my LS manifested, I was actually worried by a new swelling just beneath this area that turned out to be an infection. But I'm pretty sure its the big lumpy labia that is the area that show cancer (that is where they took the biopsy from anyway).
But honestly ladies, if you notice ANY changes, I would insist that your doctor checks you out. (I'm annoyed for not insisting when I saw my GP last year for a repeat prescription of betnovate, as I think if he had looked at my vulva then he would have noticed that it was different to the previous time).--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to: Hi Josie
I am so sorry to hear about your cancer and wish you all the best for surgery. I really hope that it hasnt spread.
What sort of changes should we be looking out for?
I was diagnosed last week and face surgery next week which seems so quick I wonder if they are telling me everything! and I am desperatley trying to find answers to questions as I havent even had a course of steroids yet and surgery seems such a drastic option.
Thanks for sharing your experience and the advice. Best of luck for next week and take care.
