Stretched skin

Hi ladies, jus wondering if any of you out there go for any skin tightening or tummy tuck after having your multiples? After giving birth to my twin boys 18months ago, I still looked pregnant. HELP!

Re: Stretched skin

Hi Carol,

After every delivery I had, I would get a Javanese post-natal massage which would include a Jamu body wrap. I find it to be very effective although I only had this massage done 3 days in a row. If I had wanted better results, I could have carry on wt the 'wrap' at least once a wk.

Thats better than going under the knives :)

Re: Stretched skin

Hi Carol

In February (twins born Oct 05) I entered hospital to have a tummy tuck and a SMALL hernia removed as I continued to look 9 months pregnant for 15 months after birth despite having wraps, massages and exercise when time allowed. I was terribly excited by the tummy tuck idea and so they started the op with liposuction to get the skin loose and the belly button tucked back in but then they opened me up and found a 2.7kg hernia (heavier than my largest boy). Consequently not too much of a tummy tuck done as they had to address the hernia.

But now my tummy is nice and tight, the skin like immediately post pregnany normal mum and I can finally fit into non pregnancy clothes.

yes it hurt but in the end I had no option.

If you want any advice please do not hesitate to contact me but go to your doc to get the hernia option checked

Cheers
Megan

Re: Stretched skin

Hi Megan

That is some hernia. I didn't realise a hernia could be weighed. I thought a hernia was a tear. I do hope you had lots of family to help you with your babies while you were recovering.

I was going to have a tummy tuck but my doctor was not in favour of it so I started doing yoga and got into a really good exercise group and am now back to my normal size. I am only slightly built and felt like a ten ton Tessie.

It has taken two years to do it but because I want another baby I was advised against it.

Alice

Re: Stretched skin

Hi Megan,

did it cost a bomb to get tummy tuck done here? Which hospital did you go to? My twins are 4 years old and I am still 4 size bigger to my pre-twins era. I also had the worst stretched skin, they began to tear when I was only 6 months along. So by the time I got to 38 weeks, they were beyond self- repair. But with 3 kids in international school, I think I cant afford a tummy tuck :( , hence the interest in the cost.

Thanks.

Re: Stretched skin

Hi everyone. Thanks for your valuable opinion and advices. I didn't go for any Javanese massage as I had caesarian when my boys are born. By the time I wanna do the massage (1month later), I had Post Partum Haemorrhage. Did a emergency D&C. After that was too afraid to do anything. My gynae said ONLY tummy tuck can help me. I'm back to my post pregnancy weight but my skin has stretched so much that it didn't go back to the same form anymore.(same as you, Martina) Very wrinkled, loose skin n it's bulging that makes me look pregnant. Handful of people thought that I was pregnant again. Tempted to do tummy tuck but the pain, hospital stays and missing my kids....thinking for wat that amount of money can be make to good use instead of going for the tummytuck. Just out of curiousity, just like Martina, how much does it cost? Thanks.
