Twin pregnancy -- natural birth or cesarean better? Care to share your experience?
Hi all, I know this website through "youngparents-baby" magazine. I am glad that I found this website while I feel nervous. I am expecting twin and my pregnancy is about 12 weeks now. As this is my first pregnancy, I am very nervous about what should I do in order to keep well my twins. Also, may I know natural birth and cesarean which is better for twins? Any of your input will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance... |

When I expected twins I already had an older child. I had delivered my older child via natural birth and was determined to deliver the twins naturally also. I found the right doctor in SGP who supported me all the way. We had a sucessful, natural birth (with no epidural) of our full-term twin girls. Thank God. TMC was also great!!! I would only go to: Dr Paul Tseng TLC Gynaecology Practice 339 Thomson Road #03-02 Thomson Medical Centre Singapore 307677 Tel: 6254 2878 Fax: 6254 6233 Angelika 96444286 |

Hi, am 33 weeks pregnant with twins now and a second mother as well. My first born was born in the US and had to be born by cs because she was breech (head up), so the doctor advised we sould do a c section at 38 weeks. For the twins now, one is head down and the other is head up, so since my first one was delivered by c I dont mind at all doing this second delivery by c as well. My experience was good although the recovery period is much longer than the normal. But at least you can plan better and reduce surprises...it was totally painless! |

I have an older child too when i was expecting twins. Older child was born natural birth but with epidural. My twins were born prematurely at 31 weeks so it had to be c section as the doc was afraid they might be too weak to go through natural birth, i felt i recovered faster with natural birth. with c, although painless at the point, i experienced more discomfort with the recovery process i.e. taking care of stitches, cant walk properly for days, soreness in the tummy area for more than 2 weeks. physical discomforts aside, i dun think you can "choose" whether c or not. it all depends on the condition of twins. in the end, we just had to do whats best for babies and not mummy. i was quite upset at first tt i could not have a "normal" delivery...not to mention the added costs. but in the end i told myself...well its for the best. take care of yourself... and dun worry...enjoy your pregnancy now.. |
