Very adamant post...probably not too thought out though...
Yeah, when we were attacked at Pearl Harbor we went to war...with the country that attacked us. That would be Japan. However, Bush has now gone to war with Iraq, who had no direct part in the attacks. Saudi Arabia was home to most of the terrorists that DID kill our men, yet Bush turned a blind eye to that. Iraq certainly was home to an evil man, and I'm very glad that Sadaam Hussein is out of power. He killed thousands and thousands of his own people. But he didn't attack us. So in that respect, your thinking is flawed. We are not "retaliating", we are (supposedly) preventing them from striking first.
Now you might say that our suspicions were enough of a reason to start a war. But we had FAR more information warning about 9/11 than we did about any Iraqi attack. Yet we didn't do anything there. Bin Laden even attacked us once before! Both Hussein and Bin Laden are violent tyrants, in my opinion, but only one has attacked us.
I'm not trying to get personal, but it sounds like you've brainwashed yourself to like Bush because you don't want to think your brother is fought an unjust cause. That makes sense. Understand that I am extremely patriotic, and I would fight off any attacker who dared to step foot onto my America. And I am not a Democrat, or an extreme Liberalist. I simply hate the Bush administration. Governments have been lying to us for YEARS, but I think Bush has taken it a step too far. Clinton was a dick too, in my opinion. He actually got CAUGHT lying about the Monica Lewinski thing!
Anyway, jsut wanted to say that so you don't think I'm one of those peace-flag-waving hippies who spits on our troops. I'm right there with you saying "God bless America! God bless our troops!" And I'll say "God bless Mr. Bush" as soon as he leaves the office. I have given prayers and kind words to our troops in Iraq. I love my fellow citizens.
We would truly be a great nation if our President shared the same sentiments. |
