What tha hell`s wrong with u people... Dont you have a brain? Dont you feel important enough? Why are you all prising CM (a simple famous man)... Forgive me if im offensive, but come on, Im a CP fun, I really, like their music, I do believe that CM migth be using symbols on his music to express his ideas in a personal way, but that and the hold arguments you have are not strong enough to get such idiotic conclussion. Im a jazz musician. I used to hate CP because of their simplicity until I got it. If you use multiple simple riffs and delays combined with other effects you can induce listener to a diferent mental state. I know these becuase I investigated it a few years ago. I know the powers it gives you. I dont know if they (CP) are concient of this, i think they honest artist who look for the best way make their music. And they do. They make great music. Pero ya pues dejense de huevadas y usen el cerebro para algo más q para crear enlaces absurdos. Dejen de tratar de econtrarle la quinta pata al gato. Use your heart but also your brain. |

you said you didn't get coldplay music at all at first because you thought it was too simplistic for your taste, and then admit that later you finally got it and now like the music. Clearly you're upset right now, most likely because you still don't fully "get it", consciously at least. S'ok, you'll come around. Just like before when you thought they sucked and realized you were wrong. |

Hi Gerardo! You write: "If you use multiple simple riffs and delays combined with other effects you can induce listener to a different mental state". Well, that's a start. Of course all good music can induce some kind of different state in players and/or audience. That's just a good definition of music (even elevator or mall music!). Music is in this sense closer to shamanic or religious ritual than any other art. It's older than language. At this forum are posting some people with a very clear intelligence and knowledge on the subject of religion, culture and art. If you're interested you can try to look past the (protective) tongue in cheek and find out if there's more to it. You seem to agree with Coldplay / CM being a good shaman basicaly. You admit he might be using 'symbols' and induces certain mental states. I think you're already halfway there and challenge you to go the whole way. Good luck! |
