I was wundering when you ollie if you have to be in deeper water ive done it in a bit deeper water but never in really shallow water if not what am i doing wrong

Usually when we're ollieing, especially onto stuff like rails and pipes, we usually dig a pit in front of it to have some deeper water to ollie in. If the water is more shallow, it is easier, for me anyways, to pop the board out of the water while doing a shove-it.
