Hand starting dog on end of crankshaft thread

Can anybody advise what this thread is please. Better still has anybody locally got one that I could borrow for a few days ,
With the potential to purchase if what I suspect is wrong with my new Rosengart Crank.

Re: Hand starting dog on end of crankshaft thread

Hi Derek
The thread is 5/8" x 16 TPI, the same as the radius arms and the halfshaft thread. Typically, Lord Austin used the non standard variant!
Taps used to be available from Tracy Tools in Torquay, but I can't find one lisred at present - worth enquiring anyway.
Good luck

Derek won't the Rosengart be metric?

Absolutely
This has been an unusual experience from the supplier my first çrank for a Rosengart was exemplary. A different machinist , possibly. I have no doubt that it will be resolved satisfactorily.
