Engine numbers

The engine number shown on my registration document is different to that which is stamped on the engine block. Two questions, can anyone tell me the year of manufacture of M206168 and am I looking at any future problems having the wrong engine number shown on the log book. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Re: Engine numbers

Hi John,
Your engine dates from mid to late 1934.
When you say "log book" do you mean the original buff log book or the current V5C

Re: Engine numbers

On the V5C there is a box to enter the new engine number and send it to DVLA.
Should be no problem as replacement engines often happen.

Re: Engine numbers

Thank you both for your answers, I think that covers both questions. It goes to show I should have read the registration document more carefully.

Re: Engine numbers

John, at least you have an engine number. I'm not sure what the authorities will think of mine!
