if
it's about Cardiff..
Sport, Entertainment, Transportation, Business,
Development Projects, Leisure, Eating, Drinking,
Nightlife, Shopping, Train Spotting! etc.. then we want it here!
seems ridiculous. why does planning have to take so long? why do the bureaucrats insist on every single i being dotted and t crossed. the space was earmarked for an ice rink. the proposal was for an ice rink. how can it take so long to review the proposals? I've seen planning documents and you can read through them in a few hours. I imagine a proposal like this may take a bit longer to go through all documents but a quick one sided piece of paper from the planning officer giving his decision in principle could get things moving. obviously that isn't the case and we need endless streams of paperwork and pointless processes to justify the existence of these specialists. surely it is better to get things through the system quickly rather than continually holding up the project costing jobs and growth potential

You'd think! What pisses me off more than anything is that the sooner these schemes start the sooner money starts flowing around the local economy in relation to that construction project and then eventually at the new premises. It's a no-brainier, speed up the process FFS

Yes, but you forget, that would require common sense on somebody's part, and I think that can't be found in abundance lately. The government must still be rationing it...
i read in 'Construction News' today that planning permission has been granted for phase 1 International Sports Village, for Kier construction Ltd,with a contract worth £16m lets hope to see the diggers and scaffholding etc on-site soon....for those of us that live outside of Cardiff and are waiting eagerly for anything atall to start at the ISV it's seems like things are running at sub snail's pace! That ISV would probably put Cardiff on the interanational radar more than most developments so its so frustrating that its taking so long for it to get to anything that even resembles a destination worthy of a name like ISV?
Looks a bit twee and fake. And all their pub-restaurants are "XXXXX farm". I mean surely you can't name a pub on this site "Something Farm". I know there was a Grange Farm further inland in Grangetown, but nowadays... it would just seem totally out of place in "the Bay".
The millennium international farm quarter is a winner
Looks like this is about to open - called The Cedar Tree Farm.
Hardly exciting but at least that's another bit of wasteland down that way taken up

This isn't 'just in news' but I believe the commencement of the new rink kicks off on the 20th of this month - just hope we don't hear of any further delays!! Whilst it's good to see cardiff pointe underway I think that seeing work progress on a 'replacement' for the bl***y tent will be a real boost for our INTERNATIONAL sportd village.

Well the pics on the website look great. Much better than the last ones i remember seeing, which were much more red. Whether it will end up looking great depends on the materials I guess but the pics at least work for me.
