costa del cardiff

sorry if there is a thread for this.

can't see how it will be paid for but looks good

Re: costa del cardiff

Wouldn't like to go for a dip!

Re: costa del cardiff

Sounds interesting, but isn't the water in the bay stagnant? People aren't allowed to swim. Having said that, this is an interesting proposal but why not try and get access to and improve Splott Beach?

Re: costa del cardiff

The bay isnt stagnant, they pump air into it, hence all the wildlife that lives in and around it! Over the summer you couldnt stop the young men from jumping in the bay from the docks by mermaid quay. also saw some people sat in the water off the barrage as well.

Re: costa del cardiff

Not a good sign if they have to pump air into it. Wasn't there an algae problem a few years back there too? Sort of similar to what's happened in Roath Park lake?

Re: costa del cardiff

They have an interesting picture on their Twitter.

If we end up with a train station like that, I will happily eat my shoes.

Re: costa del cardiff

When you think of the raw sewage that was poured into the by Watermark alone for 5 years - I would never go for a swim in the Bay.

I also shudder to think of the effluent coming down the Taff.

Why is that not a good sign? It was always part of the scheme. Aeration was included in the Cardiff Bay Bararge Act.

The aearation isn't a response to a problem, it was part of the plan - and I, like many others, swim in the bay despite the by-laws.

Re: costa del cardiff

After having read the full proposal, I have to say that I am very impressed. It isn't just about plonking a beach in the bay. It's about a whole new regeneration of the area. The proposals are exciting and innovative and would be another plume in Cardiff's hat.

Re: costa del cardiff

the arguments they have is that the water will be cleaned up by welsh water over the current investment plan...............
