Julian Hustwitt

Derek Warmington has advised me the following.

News has been received that Julian Hustwitt passed away on Thursday 27 July at the age of 74. He had been suffering from Leukaemia.

Julian was an Assistant Purser with the Orient Line and with P&O between 1960 and 1969. His last ship was Orsova.

He spent most of his subsequent career working in the Middle East where he met his Thai wife, Joy and, when they retired, they moved to Chonburi, near Pattaya, in Thailand.

The funeral was on Saturday 6 August and his ashes were scattered at sea in the Gulf of Thailand.

Julian is listed in our A-Z of sea dogs and includes some photos.

I did meet him when I was in Head Office (Australia ) of P&O-Orient Lines.

Vale! David.
