A Warning

Unlikely to kill if this happens with an Austin 7 but should make us all think about being careful:-

Re: A Warning

I never trust a jack on it's own - I always use an axle stand(s) as back-up.
A timely reminder, sad though it is.

Re: A Warning

When working alone, we all do silly things we shouldn't, it is useful to have a mobile phone handy, especially with voice control activated, to call for help, very sad and indeed a timely reminder that we all need to take care in the garage.

Re: A Warning

A number of years ago, I was working under an AH Sprite, using an axle stand under the rear suspension. The car moved as I was pulling on a breaker bar and the axle stand toppled slowly over.I was pinned under the chassis but as usual I had placed the removed wheel under the sill and it prevented me from being crushed.I was able to call for my college to release me.ALWAYS MAKE SURE OF SAFETY FIRST.there may not be a second chance.
