Re: Unknown Austin racer

Hi! The best thing to do will be to show us some pictures, maybe provide any other information that you might have, I.E. Chassis number etc...Then we'll be able to begin figuring out what you have! Lots of knowledge on here, so someone will have an answer.

Re: Unknown Austin racer

Hi, thanks for that. Im unable to get to a computer at the moment so is there any other way im able to upload a photo onto here?

Re: Unknown Austin racer

Well, if this isn't a hoax, I will eat Aunt Mildred's hat - but then I DO hope it isn't...

Max's photo below;

This is the current condition of the car.

I am looking for another that I have of when it was in working condition.

All I know is the lights aren't original and neither are the shock absorbers. These were just extras my grandfather attached to try and get it road worthy.

Thank you.

Re: Unknown Austin racer

Ford 10 axle and brakes? Look forward to more pictures, maybe an old 1172F car?

Re: Unknown Austin racer

A nice thing to have left to you! I am sure someone who was involved in 750 Formula racing will be able to shed more light on it. It would be good to have the chassis number and photos of the engine.

Re: Unknown Austin racer

Looks like a Super Accessories Super Sportsman body. If so, they were available between about 1959 to 1964. Hamblin Cadet bodies were similar in looks but were glass fibre.

Max,
It might help to trace the car if you are prepared to give your grandad's name.
