need a favour if someone can help.

as many will recall i have taken over the patterns from quarry engineering.

i have had all the castings done, but dont have some of the internals.

i need to borrow one of the 4 speed eltos remotes that dave flake made to copy some internals..

if anyone has one i can borrow, it would be most appreciated.

maybe i could help repay the favour with some well discounted parts.

Especially with the remote on.

Ideally the one from dave flake at quarry engineering.

I beleive he would have made around 40.

it looks like the ones dave flake made were copied from the originals.

this is always more time consuming and usually more expensive.

but ill do the same and keep them as original as possible.

I have been using an Eltos remote for 10,000 miles on the Beaufort special. Last weekend the gear stick parted company with the yoke. The cause? Failure of the countersunk, slotted, threaded screw that attaches the stick to the yoke. Wear on the screw, where it acts as a fulcrum, allowed the stick to 'work' on the cheeks of the yoke which opened to a Y-shape, causing the screw to come adrift - hence no gear change! Not so much a design fault perhaps but a weakness, which could be cured with a high tensile stud secured at either end with a nut and more bend-resistant yoke.
