Re: FBHVC Survey

Will have to wait and see see if they reply.

Re: FBHVC Survey

B*******y hell I've just done it, Now you have me worried, have I fallen for a scam ? They will need a car transporter for my lot. It's a good job that I have just got a new guard dog, this one I am happy to put the "beware of the dog " sign up, our Shi Tzu would have given any perpetrator a nasty lick .
P.s one of the signs that I have reads " don't be aware of the dog, be aware of the wife" far more threatening.

Re: FBHVC Survey

It's definitely legit. I had an email from Rosy Pugh FHBVC secretary a couple of weeks ago (I am the contact for our club} telling me it was on the way. The actual survey stuff, for forwarding to our members, arrived last week

Re: FBHVC Survey

A similar survey was last done in 2011 and the report can be found here

Re: FBHVC Survey

I've just read the report. I would expect the new survey to show a continuing growth. If this is the case, surely we can expect more sensitive treatment from Government departments and agencies?
Are we prepared to demand it?

Re: FBHVC Survey

Do you really think it a good idea to tell an organisation which appears hand in glove with the DVLA what cars you own, and what they might be worth? No chance.

Re: FBHVC Survey

Douglas
Where does the survey originate from as they ask value of car and your postcode and security, may be part of the survey but useful info to nick cars. Also not mentioned on the FBHC website.

The survey accepted just the first half of my postcode, so any internet "ne'er do well" will have a fair bit of searching to do amongst a thousand or so houses to find where my cars live. Personally, I'm rather more worried about "our travelling friends" passing by on the road who can see the cars on my driveway when I'm going out/coming back from a run.

Re: FBHVC Survey

The DVLA should all ready know who owns what, but by putting a price on whats out there the powers that be can see it is a multi million pound operation and not just a few people with old polluting cars that need to be taken of the roads.

Re: FBHVC Survey

Phil,
Exactly the reasons why I filled it in. Slow progress if any with FBHVC/DVLA. According to FBHVC Jan newsletter the next meeting with them and DVLA is next month.

Re: FBHVC Survey

There is an article in the Hereford re the survey and how important the FBHVC belive the survey is, seams to make sense, But not sure why it is not on their web site or more formally issued to people with historic cars. Still completed the survey.
