Re: paint and leather

John - Not much help from here, but the 1933 Sales Catalogue (for all Austin models) says the 7.h.p Models were :
DE LUXE SALOON - Royal Blue, Black top, Blue fine lines, Best selected hide.
Maroon, " " , Red fine lines, Best selected hide.
Westminster Green " , Cream fine lines,Best selected hide.
Black - - , Fine lines , Best selected hide.
Auto Brown, Black top, Straw finelines,Best selected hide.
Opal Blue " " , Cream fine " ,Best selected hide.
Fawn " " , " " " ,Best selected hide.
Dual Beaver - - , Blue " " ,Best selected hide.
SALOON - Royal Blue, Blue band, Leather cloth.
Maroon, Beige band , Leather cloth
Black, Brown band , Leather cloth
TOURER - Royal Blue, Black band, Leather cloth
Maroon, Black band , Leather cloth
Auto Brown, Black band , Leather cloth
Opal Blue, Black band , Leather cloth
TWO SEATER - Royal Blue, Black band , Leather cloth
Fawn Black band , Leather cloth

Note 1 : It doesn't mention the colour of the upholstery.
2 : As mentioned in a recent posting, you could pay extra (I think it
was 10 quid) for other Austin colours.
3 : The Opal Blue may be what you're after.
4 : At that stage, the 65 sports hadn't been produced.

So hopefully someone on the Forum can elaborate further for you. But if you find out otherwise, please let the Forum readers know so we're all in the secret. Good Luck with your search. Cheers, Bill in Oz

Re: paint and leather

I might be wrong, but light blue paintwork with red leather trim doesn't seem a likely standard ex works offering, except perhaps to special order.

Hi John.

If it's 1933 it'll be a PD, not an APD.

When we bought our early '34 PD in the mid seventies although the car was by then red, the logbook gave the colour as blue (shade not specified) and the surviving original upholstery was in a dark-ish red leathercloth.
