Engine numbers

Hi All, I have just brought a 1937 Opal engine number M 275179
But in log book its listed as a 885CC Is it just the jolly old
DVLA getting it wrong?

Hi John. I presume there should be a comma after Opal, but regardless if you have just an engine it's obviously an Austin Seven one. There have been plenty of examples where the powers-that-be have assumed the cars are Austin 7 MINIs, thus the bigger capacity shown. Many Forum members have had the same problem - hopefully some will tell you how to get around the adjustment, or whether it's worth bothering. Good Luck, Cheers, Bill in Oz
