Eltos remote Gear Change

I have been intrigued by where the Eltos remote was made and by whom for some time now, and I cant recall seeing pre or post war advertisements for them until now. A small ad in the back of Motor Sport December 1949 reads:-

'ELTOS POSITIVE REMOTE GEAR CONTROLS are now available for Ford Eights and Tens, Austin Sevens, 3 and 4 speed boxes. Send SAE to L.Thomas 32, Reservoir Road, Edgebaston, Birmingham.'

His name L Thomas seems to be the origin of the name of the remote ELTOS.

Does anyone know any more about L Thomas and his gear change.

Re: Eltos remote Gear Change

Might be some connection with A and L Thomas Engineers (Birmingham) Ltd, Warwick Road, Solihull, who were trading in 1949 but seem to have had a creditors meeting in 1950. Perhaps one of the Birmingham sleuths (such as Les Gammon?) might be keen enough to investigate further?
