Web and Forum upgrade will start shortly

A plan is in place
We will be asking for some trials on the new forum once data is ready to go if anyone wants to sign up let us know for testing?.
But we are probably two months away, I am just sending some sponsorship requests to the cherished suppliers.
If anyone else wants to become a sponsor / cherished supplier please reply :)
The web site runs free of charge and politics (most of the time :))
I'll let you know as soon as we have enough money to engage the change process - currently the target is £600.00

Re: Web and Forum upgrade will start shortly

great news. I'm not sure what the second sentence means? If you want general users to put some thought to the new structure - and feedback objectively on how it works I'm happy to put a bit of time to thinking/replying.

Jason - If you were to set up a Paypal account I am pretty sure you would find contributions beginning to flow - especially if you were to detail what is being paid for.

Re: Web and Forum upgrade will start shortly

Good to know that the forum will be moving away from Bravenet, that can only be a good thing.

Always happy to help, just ask.

Can I ask what the plan is? There were discussions before about moving to other software before but due to time and complications it never came to much.

£600 seems to be a lot of money to run a relatively small forum, the offer to use my server FOC still stands Just ask.

Hi Jason

Please don't think this is a grumble,'cos it isn't. Just wondered how close to a change the forum is?

Re: Web and Forum upgrade will start shortly

Jason, Pay pal for me too, one question regarding the new site, can you confirm that the current historic data will be available, or will we need to download and save the existing information?

Jason,
What will happen to the site on Bravenet and all the pages I've Bookmarked?

Re: Web and Forum upgrade will start shortly

This is a super forum;I hope old stuff will not be lost. Also would it be possible to have a simpler way of putting up photographs ? Lots of us ,I know, find it very difficult at present.

Re: Web and Forum upgrade will start shortly

The new might be better, but what's wrong with the present forum with bravenet? Just wondering.

Re: Web and Forum upgrade will start shortly

As a newcomer to this forum it is pretty clunky compared to others I infest...MG Experience is good, even a small club like Bristol owners is ok.
As for trying to post photos....! For most it is a simple click!
I am sort of getting the hang of this one, but it is not intuitive, that said it would be a disaster to lose the years of accumulated wisdom(?) !!
