Good evening all. I have just had an enquiry for a pair of Lucas 515 headlamps. I have seen very few 515's but lots of 510's could anyone explain the difference? and before anyone says it's not 5!

Hi Stuart, I don't know for sure but could it simply be the Rim in the similar way to the R40/45 and R50/55 versions?

a slow reply on this one, sorry about that.

been a bit busy with the scottish rally, and several collections comeing in.

i have several of each in stock. the only difference i can find is the reflactor.

the reflector on the 510 tapers from the glass to the bulb.
the reflector on the 515 looks the same as in the CAV it goes back an inch before it tapers to the bulb.

Thanks Tony and Ian, I found an old advertisement for the 515 and it confirms Tony's observation, the only difference seems to be the shape of the reflector and its mounting method.

Hello Ian, having passed the age threshold to be eligible for a bus pass and OAP discount at the barbers I realise the older you get the less you know (or have forgotten....?)
I recently bid for some 1930's Lucas catalogues on ebay in order to fill in some gaps - but the money they made was eye-watering and SWMBO wouldn't allow me to enter into equity release on the family home.
