Yes I think it may also be a tight fan belt. After all it only has to turn the fan it drives nothing else.A check would be remove the fan belt and run for a short time and listen to see if it is still there.

Hadnt thought of that I shall investigate later. In the RL today. Not had a good week with cars. Bought a 10year old Mondeo a month ago. Now starter is U/S as of Sunday. Wifes car had the front wheels come loose on Monday (one very loose) and as I was at work a visit to the garage. Thankfully no harm done. I know who had them off last, and it wasnt me!.

Mondeo in tomorrow. Hopefully find the RP squeek tonight and we will have a full compliment again.

Any other suggestions?

Good question. The answer will assist diagnosis.

Dizzy is 1/2 crankspeed.

The cam front locating bolt is leaking enough oil to tell me it isnt that running dry.

What is dynamo vs crankspeed?

1.25 x engine speed I think.
My experience of dry dynamo bushes is the dynamo rumbles.
