Unusual inlet manifold...

I have recollection of seeing a picture of an unusual inlet manifold on the forum somewhere.

It was cast aluminium, designed to fit un U/D exhaust manifold but provided a S/D flange to bolt the carb onto.

Does anyone recall it and/or the thread it was in please?

Re: Unusual inlet manifold...

There was this about bronze ones:

There was one on ebay not long ago.

Re: Unusual inlet manifold...

Thanks Jim - it wasn't that one.

Re: Unusual inlet manifold...

Made by VWDerrington I believe. Can be cut and shut welded from the standard item, but Derringtons were newly cast.
I think the thread was Austin in the Shed's.

Re: Unusual inlet manifold...

This was a bespoke cast item so that could be it - can anyone find the thread?

Not this one?

Re: Unusual inlet manifold...

Thanks Dave - the one I recall was cast solid between the inlet ports, more lumpy looking.

Does yours work well? It looks good.

Re: Unusual inlet manifold...

Yes it runs pretty well with that manifold,It did pull 60 on the flat.It was made up from an old updraft turned upside down with the SU flange grafted on.

Re: Unusual inlet manifold...

No, evidently not! Sorry for red herring; should have read all the thread.
