Stuart, Your very lucky to have one of John Heath`s "C" cab vans, he showed me how to make the scoop scuttles when I was restoring my `23 van over 20 years ago up in Much Hadum, seems like only yesterday.

I have just finish my C Cab screen frame tonight .
I think you can shuffle the frame about to loose the 2inches or are the pillars to short.
I made new lower screen frame to adjust my screen and if I do say my self it blood good.

Stuart - Forgive me if I've misunderstood your problem. Did the higher screen come with the body? It's possible someone had the higher screen made up, as far as I know the same screens were used for cars and vans. On the '29/'30 aluminium saloons there was a timber strip sat on the scuttle, then a standard screen frame fitted on top of that. It's perhaps significant that this strip was exactly 2" high. Maybe someone, not knowing this, had your frame extended to make up the shortfall? It should not be difficult to shorten either the top or lower "legs" of the channels and whatever you're using for pillars, even though it will involve the expense of getting one pane of glass re-cut. Good morning all. Many thanks to the respondents to this question.
I believe Bill has identified the anomaly - I have the remains of a bulkhead which has a curved strip (albeit rotten and worm eaten) between the ali and the lower part of the screen.
Now to get it all assembled.

Stuart - I realise now I didn't explain myself very well. If your screen is too high by 2" when it sits on the timber strip because it's been modified, the other answer is to leave the timber out and use the frame as is. Again, Good Luck & Cheers, Bill
