is your Ruby body riveted or welded?

In this film at 6.04 we can see electric resistance spot welding inside the 'boot' of a mk 1 Ruby, but looking at mine it is riveted along there. Mine is an early one, 1934, and almost all panels are held together with small rivets.

Is your Ruby rivets or welds? Are the later ones all spot welds?

My 1935 Ruby is welded.

Should be spot welded, suspect someone's replaced the panel at some stage.

Can't recall for sure about the early Ruby bodies I've repaired, but certainly the Mark 2s were all spot welded, so I think Bryan is correct about a possible replacement. Cheers, Bill

No, my rivets are original. Almost the entire body is held together with small rivets. Guess it's just the early ones then.
