Re: Car bump starts, runs perfectly but very hard to start on starter.

Do you still have 6 volts at the coil while cranking?

Does it sound to crank over fast enough?

Re: Car bump starts, runs perfectly but very hard to start on starter.

How old is the battery? Was the car in regular use before the fault occurred? Are you running 13v or 6v?

Re: Car bump starts, runs perfectly but very hard to start on starter.

Battery is brand new. Running 6 volts.

I haven't checked what voltage we have at the coil. The starter motor turns the engine over very efficiently.

I had trouble with starting for ages until I realised the choke was a natz off being fully closed. The cable had slipped in the choke lever.
