Removing oil jets from crankcase

I seem to recall to remove oil jets from a 2 bearing crankcase that the jet is tapped 6BA and pulled out using
a piece of 6BA rod/nuts. Is this the best way !!

I'm sure you could do that, but I just hit them from below with a drift and a hammer. But then, I'm a hooligan.

I have never before heard the suggestion of tapping and extracting the jets in preference to drifting them out. Here is a drawing of a suggested drift for the job which was posted (I think by a countryman of yours)some years ago.
