Austin 7 up draft Zenith carburetor

Hi all
Can any one tell me what fitting is used to connect the fuel line to the caburetor on a
Austin 7 Up draft zenith Carburetor ,I have a 5/8” diameter thread coming out of the cab but I can't find a fitting that fits

Re: Austin 7 up draft Zenith carburetor

Brian (what a good name), if you are refering to the thread that comes out the bottom of the float chanber, then this should have a filter fitted on a fitting that I believe is 1/2" BSP.
This (http://zenithcarb.co.uk/zenserviceguide/?___store=zenith) shows sections through the carb and explains the workings.
Let me know if you need more info, I can check the thread tomorrow if you still need the info and I also have a couple of names of people who can possibly supply parts.

Re: Austin 7 up draft Zenith carburetor

Brian,

I bought a few nuts and nipples for this connection a few years ago from Willie McKenzie - worth asking if he still has them in stock.

Re: Austin 7 up draft Zenith carburetor

Thanks Brian ' I'll be on the phone tomorrow first thing.

Re: Austin 7 up draft Zenith carburetor

I've bought the fittings in the past from here:

Re: Austin 7 up draft Zenith carburetor

If you want an even "prettier" diagram of the Zenith, I scanned a few out of an old mechanics manual from the 20's.
It's on my website here http://carcrank.org/wordpress/?page_id=2124
It helped me when I was trying to get my head around the idle circuit.

Brian, I've just measured the thread on the union that has the filter on the end and it is 3/8" BSP on my carb.
