Ulster Blueprints

Bertie Fowler has produced a limited number of his Ulster Body and Chassis Blueprints (see advert on the appropriate section of the Forum). I'm handling their distribution, hence my involvement. A few details about them. They are copies of pre-production drawings dated 12/12/29 (production didn't start until the following June) and that possibly explains a small detail regarding the tail which has a more horizontal lower line than my original body (in Brooklands Museum) which has a generally more symmetrical chisel shape (confirmed in a period photo of the Longbridge production line that I have). The drawings are large (see advert), very detailed and clear and have been printed on paper to keep postal costs down and to make them easy to roll up in a cardboard tube. In view of this I would suggest that anyone purchasing them gets them laminated or frames them and gets in touch with me as soon as possible as there are only 18 copies left.

Location: Ferring, West Sussex.

Re: Ulster Blueprints

James,

There is a question as to the A7CA holding a copy of this.

Rather than miss out whilst we check, could you reserve a copy for the Association Archives please?

Re: Ulster Blueprints

Will do, but will also get such a copy laminated as I've suggested 'for Queen and country'and interests of posterity! The odd thing is that most copies from around the same time, including Chris Gould's have faded to almost the point of illegibility despite being stored in supposedly ideal conditions. However, maybe the oddest thing is how Bertie's copy lasted so well!

Location: Ferring, West Sussex.

Re: Ulster Blueprints

Thank you James - Chris Garner is attempting to phone yo, please switch on your mobile!

Before you laminate - drawings like this can be especially encapsulated by specialists, there is Association budget to do such work, if the drawings are deemed sufficiently old and important.

Thank you again.

Re: Ulster Blueprints

Sadly, my mobile is out of action for the 2nd time in the last couple of months but if Chris phones me on my landline and if he hasn't got it, emails me and I'll send him it! As regards the Blueprints, obviously they're much easier to post in their current form.

James

You should have received my email

Charles

Re: Ulster Blueprints

Charles your copy is reserved but there are under 10 pairs remaining ! At this rate will be removing the advert (or attempting to!) within the next 24hrs. Thanks to all those who have responded so quickly, don't think anyone be disappointed, I was amazed by them when I first saw them. Great effort by Bertie Fowler, still don't know what his secret to storing them was maybe full sunlight and exposure to children.... only kidding !

Re: Ulster Blueprints

Re: Ulster Blueprints

No Problem Tony and Dave...but it's getting close ! Tony I'll see you on Sunday as arranged. Dave, can you send me your full address via email and obviously will have to discuss payment. Down to the last 5 copies so anyone who wants a pair please be quick. May be able to persuade Bertie to do some more copies but won't happen in the immediate future.

Location: Ferring, West Sussex.

Re: Ulster Blueprints

Re: Ulster Blueprints

So we're nearing the end of this interesting 48 hr adventure. My email address, that's been missing on all these posts should be present on this one and it was always on the advert where there were full details about these copies. So Dave Dye and others can now contact me with their address and payment. I will honour all those who have reserved copies in the last 48hrs but will only keep them reserved for another 48-72 hrs then offer them to those who've missed out on these excellent copies.

Re: Ulster Blueprints

Need all those who have contacted me by email 'requesting copies' and through the Forum rather than official advert in 'Sales and Wants' to again contact me fairly urgently and arrange payment by email if they are really interested in obtaining these copies. Amazingly out of 15 firm orders only 11 punters have actually arranged a payment method or in fact paid. Obviously, if that situation remains then 5 or more pairs of copies may remain and will again become available. I will form a reserve list now because I can almost guarantee that anyone with an Ulster or Ulster Project (to see what it should look like!) will regret not having them.

Re: Ulster Blueprints

Appreciate that this should be a new advert but it is really an update. Due to demand and positive reviews, Bertie Fowler has printed a few more 26" x 20"copies of the Ulster Body and Chassis Blueprints. They are £35 for UK and £40 for International delivery, requests for them and payment by PayPal to my email address or cheque to my home address. As far as I know these are unique as most existing copies have faded over the years. I've only got 5 pairs left on a first come and pay basis and if you don't pay by Thursday 17th Nov. there will be a delay as I've got to go abroad for a week (to the centre of Brittany with no email contact). It is important to please check with me first that they are still available before paying.

Re: Ulster Blueprints

Last orders please ! Down to last 3 copies. See above posts, have had to bring forward trip to France to Wed. as weather forecast is awful for Thursday. 12 hr overnight crossing with poss. Storm force winds ! If orders are not paid for by tomorrow am there will be a delay of at least 7 - 10 days before any further orders can be processed. Apologies for any inconvenience.
