Re: Dealerships in and around Wimbledon

Somewhere in the back of my mind I think Jarvis and Wimbledon Motor Company were connected, if not the same?

Re: Dealerships in and around Wimbledon

Hi Hugh, congratulations on the job you and the team are doing at the Archives.
From my files by 1936 Morgans are gone, and Tillotson's Motors have started up at 116-118 Broadway and 3-5-7 Palmerston Road Wimbledon.
By 1938/9 only Wimbledon Motor Works and L.F.Dove remain with a new listing for Evans (Wimbledon) Ltd, in Alexandra Road

Re: Dealerships in and around Wimbledon

Thanks Russell for the information on Birmingham Austin Dealers.
It's amazing what information is available and from Oz.
Thanks
Martin

Re: Dealerships in and around Wimbledon

Russell - thanks for the extra info on dealers. Thanks also for comments re Archives. We are really beginning to see progress now with more to come over the next few weeks that should hopefully entertain and delight. What is really gratifying is we are beginning to see offers of donations and loan materials to the archive to bolster the collection. That is lovely side-effect of publishing and sharing the materials we have..

cheers
