Nippy Sports crankcases post 257842

Has anyone knowledge of a sports crankcase with a engine number after this?

Firstly, did scalloped side crankcases disappear when 3 bearing cranks came in? Or has anyone got one with a later number than this?

Secondly, are there distinguishing marks for the (fla- sided) three bearing Sports crankcases after that point? Or were they standard crankcases?

thanks in anticipation...

Hi Jon

It is my belief that all the Nippy three bearing crankcases had the relieved shapes on the sides, certainly the German speedy that we organised rebuilding had such a case (it was pressure fed)

Nick - are you saying that the Speedy had a later-engined pressure fed 3 bearing engine in it, as presumably they were originally all before the 3 bearing 'cut'...?

Any pics?

Hi Jon

I am sure that the Speedy never had a three bearing crank.
However when we did the German car, its original engine was missing. We managed to obtain a pressure fed engine which was three bearing later than the car.
