RM's dont have covers just painted black.
Only LWB models have covers.

Ian, I wonder if things may be more complicated. I have confirmed with an owner of an early RM (a B3 series car from March 31) that the running boards are indeed painted. Howerver I suspect things may have changed with the B4 in May 31.
I seeem to remember seeing a photo of an unrestored RM in a certain R Dunford's photobucket, but I cannot find it now.

These are the only photos I have that meet David's description Hedd.

Ruairidh, thanks, those are the one I remember. The wings also look to be that same as on my RM (i.e the later ones). When I first saw the photos, I thought that there was a rubber cover, but now I see that they look to be finished in black paint. I was too quick to buy the ribbed rubber at the NEC!
