Re: Seeking 1927 Chummy YE7296

Well, mycarcheck have it down as still being a Tourer, colour Blue - not that that should be taken as decisive proof!

However it's not on the A7CA Chassis Register, so unlikely to be owned by a member of an A7CA affiliated Austin 7 Club.

As you say, DVLA have it as 'Not taxed for on road use' - this would suggest that it has been off the road at least since the introduction of SORN on 31st January 1998 and possibly much longer. My 1936 Morris 8 Tourer is similarly shown as 'Not taxed for on road use' and it hasn't been on the road since the late 1970's !

Hi Ian

Is this the view today?

Suprising how many buildings are still there.

Re: Seeking 1927 Chummy YE7296

Hi Adrian,

Not quite, I'm afraid!

All of the old buildings to the right of the bus were demolished this year, to make way for a new development. Looks like the Google car last came by September 2015. Some similarly old buildings had at the time just been demolished behind the wooden shuttering on the left, although not in relation to the current work.

Well, I know which view I prefer! and it doesn't have a bus in it.

Re: Seeking 1927 Chummy YE7296

Hi Brian,

Look again! There's a bus parked some distance beyond the Austin 7. :-)

Re: Seeking 1927 Chummy YE7296

Now that's a proper bus!
