Ruby Radiator Cowl Fixings

Could someone advise me on the method of fixing the radiator cowls. All I have currently is a top & bottom fixing each side. However the cowls are drilled either side with four holes & I have seen photos where these are used to rivet the cowls to brackets?? running down each side of the radiator??
All advice greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Ruby Radiator Cowl Fixings

Hi Paul

If I'm not mistaken the Radiator Cowl Fixings are the plates that you mention, fit between the painted cowel and the radiator itself which provide a 'wind tunnel' cooling effect. The four holes you refer to originally fixed a strip of felt to 'seal' between plate abd radiator core, with the same at the other end for the cowl. Personally I've never bothered with them in 45 years and never experienced overheating/boiling problems that were not traced to other causes. Mind, I've only driven in our UK climate................!
