Old photos of Austin 7 Specials found on the net.

I found these photos on an MG Forum:-

Non of these three specials feature on the A7CA Chassis Register, though one is taxed until 01 September 2017.

EOC 236 - date of first registration: 11 April 1938 - colour: Maroon - has telescopic front shocks - DVLA have it as Untaxed in red box - tax was due 01 October 1987.

GNO 276 - date of first registration: 31 December 1938 - colour: Red - Taxed until 01 September 2017. At the time these photos were taken it was apparently fitted with a H.C. / tuned / ported / lightened flywheel Morris Eight engine and gearbox with Bowdenex brake conversion.

VL 7443 - the drivers name was apparently Dave Wilmot. The car doesn't feature on the DVLA database. The Lincoln registration was issued towards the end of 1935.

Location: Almost but not quite, the far North East of England

Re: Old photos of Austin 7 Specials found on the net.

GNO appears to be a Cambridge bodied special. Why the owner is attempting to push it backwards when it is attached by a tow-rope to a car is beyond me!

Re: Old photos of Austin 7 Specials found on the net.

Only the brave commence towing with a slack rope!
