Clutch slipping

Evening all. I was hoping to get some guidance on what seems to be a slipping clutch. It only seems to occur when the car has been running for a while and has warmed up. Does anyone have any clues on what this may be and how to resolve. I'm pretty sure the clutch is adjusted correctly. Thanks Tom

Re: Clutch slipping

Could be oil contamination on the linings.
How long have you had the car?
Is the provenance of the gearbox known? could be faulty oil seal or could you have over filled the box?

Re: Clutch slipping

Hi Tom

This happens very occasionally with my box saloon. It is oil that finds it's way from the gearbox.
My solution is when it is hot and slipping to have the front wheels square to a kerb, stick it in first and let the clutch out with a reasonable amount of revs. Lots of smoke comes out of the bell housing and it then the car jumps over the kerb.
After that it seem OK for a couple of years.
It's worth a try.
