Trico wiper

I have just been out and got my nice new car all wet!

When in operation - and what fun that is, I have never used a vacuum wiper before - the wiper blade only travels through about ninety degrees.

When I turn it off, it parks itself as if it has the potential to do around one hundred and twenty degrees.

Is this normal? or can I extend the amount of screen wiped by a bit of twiddling?

Thanks

Simon

Is your wiper motor a Lucas, Trico or something else?

Hello Simon
It is correct that the rocker valve changes direction before the paddle reaches the end of its stroke. If you try to adjust the mechanism to give a longer stroke you stand the chance of reaching the end of travel before the valve snaps across. The extra movement when switched off helps hide the wiper from view.

Thanks.

I won't bother fiddling with it.
