sports inlet

can anyone tell me who produced this inlet? I cant find a definitive answer online. its very well made. what would the advantage of this over an aluminium down draft example? performance etc?

Probably made by a man in his shed!

Looks a long inlet tract. I'd stick with cast aluminium 'log' type. Why re-invent the wheel.

Agree with Steve - it looks home-made. Could it be to use a side-draft carb fed by gravity? Also, I have heard (but can't confirm) that a long inlet tract is good for low speed torque but not good for a high-revving engine.

Thank you for your reply's. A fellow member contacted me via e-mail with photos of the same inlet on their car. And it seems to be a pigsty racinig item.
