Re: Brake switch spring

I use a bit of welding rod bent to the right length

Re: Brake switch spring

Cliff,

Do you mean the compression spring from inside the Lucas pattern stoplight switch?

If so a any small spring that fits around the pull rod should do.

Possibly easier to buy a replacement switch from one of the suppliers.

Cheers, Tony.

Re: Brake switch spring

Hi Tony ,
No I mean the spring from footbrake rod to switch, I take it is a spring as opposed to thin rod as in last post,if a bent piece of wire does the job will maybe go that route

Re: Brake switch spring

Cliff,

One car has a clip on the brake pull rod with a wire to the reversing light switch the other just has a piece of wire from the pedal. Both need careful adjustment but when set to the right length they are OK.

Using a pull spring usually adds another variable into the adjustment.
