You are probably fine if you sit at the back and just wait until the ring has been put on... they probably won't even notice you've gone as long as you are in the chair for the speeches. Unless you are driving the wedding car that is.

I always find "events" are so much more enjoyable when the opportunity cost is massively reduced by resource sharing or freebies. One's level of need in having a good time in direct relation to energy expended reduces, so takes all pressure off. Weddings are already pretty good in that respect, unless they have a particularly rigorous and scary present list.
