Re: Media blasting clutch parts?

Hi Simon,
With the 220 grit it will not roughen the surface unduly and it has a very low iron content so will not leave a rustable Deposit on the surface.
Any Blasting Media can have a peening effect which can harden the Surface
But no I don't think it will effect the operation of the Clutch
Cheers Colin

Re: Media blasting clutch parts?

Thanks Colin, I blasted away and everything came up great. And I finally managed to track down Kephos (now known as Paint Grip 253 http://www.solvents.net.au/index_htm_files/PAINTGRIP%20253%20(212997).pdf), the bare metal treatment stuff. I am going to rub everything with that to stop it all rusting until I am ready to paint thing. I used it when restoring my MG years ago and it really does keep bare steel rust free for years I found.
