Re: MMRJN1 Bearing

Short answer - no

This is a cylindrical roller bearing- R&M MMRJN1M has 1" Bore 2-1/2" OD 3/4" Wide.

For the early Austin 7 you need a front crankshaft roller bearing- R&M MRJ 1 1/8", rear crankshaft roller bearing R&M MRJ 1 1/4"

R&M is now RHP.

Re: MMRJN1 Bearing

Thanks Tony,

I was sure you would be able to help. I didn't recognise it but thought it was worth checking.

It must have been for something else and got mixed up in the A7 spares

Cheers

Re: MMRJN1 Bearing

Dimensions as RN RP pinion ball. Is it an earlier pinion roller?

Location: Auckland, NZ

Re: MMRJN1 Bearing

Correct dimension but has shoulders on both inner and outer ring so no axial movement possible.

Re: MMRJN1 Bearing

Which, if not standard for some earlier model, makes it a direct and probably originally expensive replacement for the somewhat inadequate RP ball with no need to pin the outer ring.
Some ball pinions I have removed have had nil play when free, suggesting a close tolerance bearing may have been sold for this application.

Interesting possibility !
