what to say, I bought this as a project to turn into a hill climb car, I had a very particular vision and bought this blind for £4k , anyway not as described and certainly not suitable for what i had in mind.

The car i believe was built for a static display, body is reasonable and made out of steel.

Engine, missing ALL ancillaries, wiring and anything else you can imagine, its a block and a head !

Gearbox is present and fitted as is propshaft !

Interior , is comfortable !

Plate is still valid and with the car.

Documents (blue V5)
Last owner had is for 30 plus years and i purchased from the estate.

Assume the worst and then you can only be suprised.

Has ANYONE managed to put one of these horrid things back on the road?

I think that most readers here would have seen the nature of these frauds. It's unfortunate that there are unscrupulous vendors and ill-informed or trusting purchasers out there.
Having said that, I would buy one IF the price and documentation was right. I enjoy building specials and these "cars" are as good a starting point as any other.
For the purists, at least another roadworthy or rescuable original car isn't being sacrificed on the altar of special building..

My recollection is that any of the "Waterski Specials" that had traceable registrations were still "Saloons" as far as DVLA was concerned.

The original seller also offered a number of sound-looking Ruby bodies for sale, so sadly I think that a number of rescuable cars WERE sacrificed.

I don't get it.

Your thread says that the sky mudguard special is back.

So I take it you read all the slagging it down on the forum.

If so, WHY ON EARTH DID YOU BUY IT.

if you want to sell it, I'd offer £1k. That way I could afford to strip it and sell the parts seperate and list them to there correct condition.
Hopefully that way the next time the body is seen, which most people feel is ok. It Will be built onto a proper special.
