Identifying dynamo field wire.

Can anyone tell me how to identify the field wire on my dynamo please. I have a blue thin wire & a thicker yellow wire coming out of the dynamo casing but unsure which wire to connect to what. The dynamo is a Lucas with just the small connector block on top. Tia. Kevin.
The car is a 33 PD.

Re: Identifying dynamo field wire.

Thinner wire should be the field connection, the fatter yellow wire should be the 'D' dynamo output wire.

The link below may help.

The output from the dynamo comes from the wire going to the brush so regardless of colour the remaining wire must therefore be the field connection.
