Woodyatt Motors Ltd, Southend

We have a long-disused 1934 RP saloon in for some major work at the moment. It still has a rather nice dealer's plate from Woodyatt's of Southend on the dashboard.

As the car has a JN (Southend) registration, I assume that the plate has been there from new.

Does anyone know anything about this company?

The next problem is how to deal with the plate, which is in some ancient sort of moulded plastic and is, I have no doubt, very delicate. I'm inclined not to disturb it and just work around it.

Location: Herefordshire, with an "E" not a "T".

Re: Woodyatt Motors Ltd, Southend

Martin,
Woodyatt Motors' address was Milton Road, Westcliff-on-Sea but they were not the Austin agents. These were P. Morgan & Co Ltd., Plough Corner, London Road.
Woodyatt's appear not to have been an insignificant garage however as they had the capacity to hold 150 cars on their premises.
