Reliant engine mods

Has anyone attempted to fit an A7 block and head to a Reliant crankcase? I have a Reliant engine but the head stud arrangements are poor, I would use a lost spark ignition coil unit for ignition plus some electronic black art advance retard tricks 👀👀. Any thoughts?

OK I give in, what is a 'lost spark ignition coil unit'?

I suffer from that ( lack of spark) and I don't mean car parts. It's the bloody weather.

I've come across wasted spark ignition, generally on two cylinder machines in which the plugs spark on each revolution.
Works on my BMWs….
Lost spark is a new one on me though.

Why would you want to use an A7 block on a Reliant crankcase? The Reliant SV block is a development of the Austin one. I have heard of the Reliant block being used on the A7 crankcase, this entails putting a piece of metal into the distributor drive hole at the front of the block and then machining it flat so it looks correct. The Reliant block has better water passages around the ports similar to a Grasshopper block.
