Archive web site nominated for Web site of the Year

I am thrilled to be able to tell you that the Archive web site has been nominated for 'Outstanding Web Site of the Year' in the National Car Clubs Awards. We join 5 other Clubs who will hear the outcome of the judges' deliberation at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show at the NEC on Saturday April 1st. Attending on behalf of the Project and the Association generally will be Andy Lowe, Chairman of the Association and Chris Charles, our web master whose hard work and design flair has, without doubt, contributed much to our short listing..

If you want to see what all the fuss is about, have a look at archive.a7ca.org and don't forget our open day the following day, Sunday April 2nd...

Excellent news, well done everyone!

But I thought the open day is on April 2nd - has it been changed?

Re: Archive web site nominated for Web site of the Year

Sorry Mike. Yes you are quite right, as Secretary to the Association, my head is also full of arrangements for the AGM which *is* April 9th.

Thanks for spotting that, now corrected!

Re: Archive web site nominated for Web site of the Year

Just for the hell of it, I've checked out the other websites - some are impressive, others less so. I tried searching for my local group meeting for each club - some could only be accessed if I was already a member, which seems to defeat the object! The Association's Active Map was good and effective, but I was surprised to see that here are apparently no meetings in the West Country (nothing West of a line from Bristol to Bournemouth) - that can't be right, surely?

Re: Archive web site nominated for Web site of the Year

I don't know the specific answer to your question, Mike, but what I will say is the information shown on the Association web site can only be as good as that provided by the Member Clubs..
