Re: Speedometer cable lubrication

Yes, mine is broken too, hence the question. It looks as if it has been nicely lubricated with groil I suspect.

The break was a couple of inches behind the speedometer where the cable starts to bend down as it runs towards the bulkhead. The most torturous bend in its route to the gearbox. (Box saloon)

I had pondered drilling another hole in the bulkhead just a couple of inches above the original but surely this shouldn't be necessary???

Re: Speedometer cable lubrication

Mine broke at the gearbox end - the sharpest bend.

When shopping for a new cable (for the Magmo speedo) I found there was a choice of lengths, 48" or 51" I think.

The original was the shorter length, I bought the longer one and the cable bends are "lazier" and kinder to the inner.
