Re: National Rally - Toowoomba...

Thanks Duncan - I personally have never seen dual ignition A7, love it!

Re: National Rally - Toowoomba...

This was a great turn out. I think there was 115 or so cars. Dwindled down to 60-70 when the photo with the Duck out front was taken.

I saw a few of the users on here driving their machines.

Tony,
The following should take you to a photo of Graham's two cars and the Meteor I have. (the Ruby was driven up and won the longest distance driven)

Re: National Rally - Toowoomba...

The Austin Seven National Rally at Toowoomba Qld was quickly followed by the Austins Over Australia Rally at Ipswich Qld.

Melbourne Club President Graeme Logan accompanied by his wife Bev drove their Ruby Saloon from Melbourne to both events with a leisurely drive home, covering 5,000 miles over three weeks.

His only failure was a broken wheel stud which caused a little damage to the wheel hub, all fixed en route.

His daughter Peta trailered Graeme's 1930 Austin Seven Standard Sport replica to Toowoomba, which Graeme drove in the Toowoomba Rally with Peta driving the Ruby.
Peta then returned home towing the Sport while Graeme and Bev continued on to Ipswich before driving home.

I was told that on the Austins Over Australia Rally the Austin A 30's were apparently slower than most Austin Sevens

Cheers, Tony.
